Series Concept

Bombshell is a series of artwork that celebrates the female form and references the pin-ups and calendar-girls from the 1940s and Korean War eras.

It seems like a natural coming together of the figure studies i have been producing and the time and research spent on the Italian campaign of WW2 for the Legato Exhibition in Cassino, Italy.

So what will Bombshell involve?

I envisage 6 to 10 works on raw unstretched canvas. i will use contemporary models - is that the right phrase? basically i'm not going to reproduce old pin-ups but look to create something fresh even though i'm looking back 60 or more years for my inspiration.
